Pegasystem launches Pega 7.3
AI-powered customer engagement
Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant
New in Pega 7.3, Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant leverages the power of Pega Platform to create conversational user experiences for any Pega application across channels, allowing organizations to deliver contextual and personalized service. Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant is a separately licensed feature of Pega 7.3. Key features include:
Channel components that support integration with Facebook Messenger, Alexa, Email, and Tropo SMS, plus an architecture that supports custom integrations. You can find many of the channel components on Pega Exchange.
A multichannel dashboard that displays all the ways users can interact with a Pega app and any enabled functionalities.
The ability to blend design time and run time, so you can configure chatbots (such as Facebook, Amazon Alexa, and Tropo SMS chatbots) while deploying updates in real time.
The functionality to add conversations to case types across a myriad of channels and maintain a conversational user experience throughout the entire case life cycle.
Pega 7.3 continues to empower Agile application development through enhancements that create stronger ties between business and development. Key features include:
Create user stories, bugs, and feedback items directly within an application with the new Agile Workbench, attaching videos and screen captures to provide better context.
Integrate Agile Workbench with enterprise project management systems, like Pega’s own project management solution Pega Agile Studio (formerly Pega Project Management Framework). Components to support integration with CA Agile Central (formerly Rally ALM) and Atlassian JIRA will be available from Pega Exchange.
Accelerate the implementation of Pega’s applications with application guides, which can provide checklists for application configuration, setup, and usage.
Get a feature-by-feature understanding of applications and improve reusability with the updated Application Overview landing page.
Cloud choice – Expanded options
Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
Pega’s partnership with PCF expands customer options for Pega deployments on the Cloud Foundry platform-as-a-service infrastruture. PCF added a new tile that supports Pega 7.3.
Deploy the Pega Platform Service Broker on any private cloud running PCF by using the Ops Manager tool or BOSH and the Cloud Foundry command-line interface.
Directly connect to Pega databases from PCF.
Configure the number and size of web nodes and decision nodes to meet the load of a Pega cluster, regardless of size.
Pega extends cloud choice by adding support for Microsoft Azure. Through cooperation with Microsoft, Pega 7.3 is continuously validated and supported in the Azure cloud environment and backed by Pega’s Global Customer Service team. Additional features in Pega 7.3
Customer Decision Hub
The full power of Customer Decision Hub’s advanced analytics capabilities are now consolidated into the new Decision Analytics portal, a central work area for predictive model development and monitoring. Business users can now:
Create and control predictive models from one location, including text analytics models, adaptive models, and predictive models.
Handle the entire life cycle for a given predictive model, including data sampling, algorithm construction, monitoring, and scoring.
Other updates to Customer Decision Hub include:
Greater resilience and scalability for real-time machine learning through support for multiple Pega Platform nodes in Adaptive Decision Manager.
Ability to predict customer intent (such as reason for contact). The Text Analytics feature now has new intent parsing capabilities that are able to scan any unstructured text data source.
Ability to connect to virtually any social data feed. Customer Decision Hub includes an extensible social and web connector platform that connects to feeds, such as Facebook and Twitter, and can support feeds, such as Whatsapp and Webhose.io.
Enhancements to revision management, such as the ability to reassign, delegate, or reject change requests; the inclusion of all predictive and text analytics models; and support for automated testing for revisions.
Data from Apache Kafka can now be fed directly into Decision Strategy Manager.
Pega 7.3 expands key DevOps capabilities, including testing automation, delivery, pipeline management, and expanded support for third-party tools.
PegaUnit test cases for flows and case types, plus support for creating PegaUnit test suites.
Better visibility into branch contents, with views on quality, guardrail scores, and unit tests for better version control from the Branch landing page.
Added support for artifact repositories to easily publish and share application deliverables.
Mobile, UI, and notifications
Key enhancements further foster collaboration with the notification framework to better support upgrades that leverage client-side templates and to extend Pega into other CRM applications, such as Salesforce.
Increase internal and external collaboration and communication with real-time notifications. Notifications over various channels help users stay informed.
Modernize UI rendering, improve AJAX performance, and maximize reusability and maintainability with a client-side, template-based UI. For example, you can create email correspondence by using templates.
